• Project LIFE is more than a typical transition-to-work program. This comprehensive program combines classroom and life skill education with authentic work experiences to prepare students with disabilities for a self-determined future.  Home - Project LIFE

The focus of the program is an increased emphasis on independent daily living skills, social/communication skills, and the development of employment skills. The Project LIFE program may be appropriate for students who have little to no previous experience with employment skills.  Students will spend part of their day in a classroom setting learning skill development and part of their day applying their skills in a supported community internship. Students will participate in three 10–12-week internships in community job sites.

Project LIFE is an alternative vocational training program that is application and interview based.  Students must have completed all high school graduation credit requirements.  Any young adult with a developmental disability seeking a future of greater adult independence in the areas of employment, adult living environments and community inclusion could benefit from this program. Project LIFE is particularly helpful to those individuals who are seeking to prepare for success in the Project SEARCH program.

  • Project LIFE Interns participate weekly in the Nutrition on Weekends (NOW) program which provides healthy, ready-to-eat nutritious foods for children during the weekend, providing a safety net for children when they are not in the classroom and able to access school meals. In addition to learning valuable life-skills of teamwork and helping others, interns become active members of our local community while delivering the NOW bags to Marshfield area schools.
